This tractor was built sometime in 1945. (Source).
Parked in the shop ready for some attention. The Cockshutt 90 is in the background.
I started by hooking up the battery I had on the Cockshutt 90 and seeing what would happen. With no response I started tracing the wires and testing points with my voltmeter. Several components had corroded over time which prevented power from moving forward in the system. These included the starter switch, volt gauge, and kill switch. I also replaced the spark plugs. It's nice to have one less possible point of failure.
I replaced the old metal in-line filter with a clear plastic one. Should take the guess work out of when to replace it.
I had the tractor turning over easily but could not get it started. My next step is to look at the carburetor this winter and ensure it's in working order.
